Prepare yourself for a successful future by participating in AVID!

We are proud to be the only online high school in Idaho to partner with the nationally renowned Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) program. We offer the AVID high school elective as well as adopting many AVID schoolwide elements.  Why did we partner with AVID? We want your student to have the same opportunities and access to great academic skills as any other student in helping them reach their career and college goals.

What is AVID?

Do you have career and college goals in mind but feel lost on how to get to the end goal?  Did you have obstacles during high school but are now ready to achieve academic success and focus on the future?  AVID (Advancement via Individual Determination) can help students learn key academic skills to be successful in their career and college pursuits.  AVID is an evidence-based program assisting students with organization, college and career planning and goal setting.  More specifically, in AVID courses or schools with AVID components, students focus on schoolwork differently to promote deeper learning and interact with other students in a way that encourages deeper understanding and viewpoints.

Qualifying students at iSucceed may enroll in elective-based AVID courses that will help them improve grades and academic outcomes. Just like the rest of your schooling, these courses will be 100% online and are centered around growing organization, writing, critical thinking, collaborative work and reading comprehension skills.

This program is spreading throughout the country quickly, because it gets results. For more information, check out this USA Today article.

For students behind on credits…

Some students may have past academic struggles that resulted in lacking credits towards graduation.

If you’re needing to catch up on credits and not sure if you’ll be able to get into college, apply for the AVID program. It will help you build the critical skills you need for college while working personally with someone to set and accomplish your goals.

For students on track or set to graduate early…

Then AVID is great for you too! We utilize the program to increase students’ use of the state’s Advanced Opportunities program. In other words, we’ll help you challenge yourself to get ahead in college credits, by enrolling in rigorous courses such as Honors, Dual Credit and AP courses.

“We saw a need in Idaho to deliver the AVID program online to all interested students, and this program will give iSucceed students robust skills that will not only boost academic performance but set the stage for organization and goal setting skills they can use for the rest of their lives.”
